this is a great cart.

.. very well made. strong durable construction.

.. very large. holds my 92 lb “Bear” and my 120 lb girlfriend.

.. mounts to bike very easily and pulls very smoothly.

.. nice to have the extra pockets to put leash and dogbowl.

.. in an effort to “go green” we ride our bikes to the grocery store and use this cart to haul the groceries back with us. works amazing for this too.

.. one thing everyone should take into play when purchasing any cart would be your dog. consider if your dog will actually go into this thing. this particular cart is very sturdy but a dog that won’t enter a kennell cage won’t ever consider a cart ride.

We received this bike trailer yesterday and we were very impressed with how easy it is to set up. I bought the kit to convert it so we can push our dog in it. We have a 75 lb golden retriever who has osteosarcoma (bone cancer)

in her front leg and is not able to walk for any great distance so this was

just what we needed to take her for those long walks she has always loved.

The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bottom of this trailer is not very stable/sturdy. When she got in it she got very scared because of how warbly it was. My husband will put some kind of board underneath it to stabilize that for her and hopefully this will ease her fear. Other than that we really like it and look forward to many miles of walking with her in it.

This is a huge disappointment – the design was a good idea but the manufacturing looks like it was made by an unskilled kid in sewing class. The fabric, zippers and stiching are cheap and didn’t fit properly around the frame. The material was baggy in spots and so tight it was ripping at the seams in other spots. One of the tires was defective and didn’t hold any air. The final straw was that it made too much noise when I tried to jog with it. The bike hitch hangs below and rattles the entire time. After reading other reveiws – I have decided to return it and not ask for a replacement.

I purchased the medium stroller (red) for use with my dogs.

I have Border Terriers (17-21 lbs.). My older one is 14 and loves to come on walks but is not necessarily up for long walks anymore. My 2nd BT is 10 years old and is very fit but injured himself playing ball during July 2009 and I needed to limit the length of the walks for him.

I had purchased the stroller shortly after this for use with both boys.

The stroller works great. The setup of my condo means I have to collapse it going through my sliding door to my patio but it has no issue through my front door.

The main frame and structure of the stroller seem fine and are held together with a series of bolts, washers and locking nuts. I would periodically check these for coming loose. I had not done that and found that after a month and a half of regular use, they came apart. Two came loose but I have all of the parts.

The big issue with the nuts coming undone was that it put too much stress on the stroller support bar and the plastic piece on one end broke in half. I have emailed Solvit for replacement parts and will await their response.

I still believe this product is worth it, but with anything that undergoes regular use and stress, you need to check it for maintenance.

One item that I do not believe is work installing is the brake. This worked for two days and after that could not stay tight enough against the tires to work. Grass is a better braking spot than the installed brake on this stroller.

This buggy is the cat’s meow!

I use this stroller for my cats and they get some curious stares and uproarious laughter during my walks when other walkers see that it is a cat inside!

Solvit offers a very good design and a well built stroller. It is easy to push and steer. The large tires make the ride smooth in comparision to those other buggies with the tiny wheeled baby stroller design. It requires minimal assembly which is easy to do.

Contrary to some reviews here, I had no rust or peeling paint on the frame. If I did have a problem I would simply exchange it for a new one.

This stroller is a bit pricey but I feel it is worth the money. I got mine in the “warehouse deals” section of Amazon, and it was slightly discounted due to the box being an “open item” with tears in the box. There was NO damage to the stroller and I am VERY PLEASED with this buggy and with Amazon.

If you are a regular walker and are looking for a sturdy buggy for your pet, this one is a good bet.

My cats (and dogs) love it and give a rating of FIVE STARS!

I read a lot of reviews and decided on this product…like all products it had a couple of soso reviews, but the majority were good so I went for it. I believe it was easy to put together and made of quality materials. My one dog had gotten older and sick and couldn’t keep up with the other dog and pooped out quick, so I bought this stroller so he could still be a part of the family on walks. The stroller was great on uneven pavement and debirs in the road, made great turns, easy up and down for curbs, and had plenty of room for my dog and pockets to put my stuff. Many people stopped me and wanted to know where they could get one because the strollers they had purchased were not very durable. I would recommend this to anyone who was thinking of buying a stroller.

When this item arrived, it took about 5 minutes to assemble. The wheels and arm click into place with a snap. The fabric is heavy nylon, like backpack material. There is a mesh door at the back and at the front with zippers. When you want the door open, there is velcro to hold it in place. There are also 2 little pouches on either side that are big enough to hold a leash and a bottle of water. The plate to hold it to your bike is easy to put in place and there is a release latch so the trailer doesn’t have to be attached all the time. There is also a heavy spring at the junction between the bar and your bike. The spring acts like a shock absorber and also allows the trailer to move more naturally.

I have a handicapped pet. He loved going for a ride down to the park. I can’t imagine wheeling him around in a stroller, but I’ll certainly take him for a ride around the neighborhood for a little fun and exercise.

I absolutely love this product. Now I can ride my bike without leaving my Shih Tzu at home. He jumped right in before I had the chance to tempt him with a treat. I think it’s best to start any dog out with a few short runs to get them used to the movement and confinement etc. The first time he protested because he wanted to get out and run with us instead of riding, but he soon got the idea. I have found it helpful to walk him first so he gets his activity out of the way before I put him in. Now I ride around the neighborhood at night when it is cooler and he is fine with it. It seems to be well made and sturdy but still easy to mount on the bike. I recently purchased another bike attachment so when my husband is with me, he can pull him though it isn’t difficult at all and I am in my fifties and had leg surgery less than a year ago.

I would definitely recommend to a friend.

In the world of horses everyone has an opinion. After deciding to buy a trailer I wanted to do a little research. This book is full of incredible detail about all the possible mishaps your horse could get into and the various design flaws that most trailers have to contribute to those mishaps. It gives detailed explanations of each part of the trailer and is full of opinions about the best design of trailers. The authors do not cite any specific manufacturers but after reading this book I had completely changed my mind about what I wanted. The problem is so much of the information was so scary that I designed my perfect trailer around it, only to learn it would cost me almost ,000.00 (for a 2-horse). The book is incredibly detailed, well written in layman’s terms and has good illustrations and photographs. I learned a lot more about a horse trailer than I ever thought I needed to. It gives you a lot to think about. Mostly I thought about never trailering my horse in someone elses’s trailer again.

As a novice in the horse world I had no idea where to start looking for a safe and reasonably priced horse trailer. This book was a wealth of information covering all the main topics (slant load or straight load, gooseneck or tag-a-long; steel or aluminum construction)and offered lot’s of details I would not have considered (hay bags, nets or mangers; ramp or step up’s; windows open or closed). I completely changed my mind about what to look for in a trailer and believe I have now have the information necessary to buy the safest trailer available and the most appropriate tow vehicle for my choice of trailer. The authors are very knowledgeable and have written from experience. The only problem I had with the book is that it is almost too much information but it will continue to be a resource for any questions that arise in the future. I highly recommend this book.

Imagine trying to buy a car with no consumer reviews (or even trade reviews), and in a world where only a handful of people you know even own cars. You can ask their opinion, but their vehicle is several years old and a totally different type from the one you need. And for every time you hear someone say, “Acme Brand Trailers are the greatest,” you’ll also hear, “I wouldn’t have an Acme Brand Trailer ever again.” This is what it’s like to shop for a horse trailer. Actually, it’s even worse: most horse trailers are practically custom made, so there’s a huge variety of options to select. Dealers often only have one brand and are typically far apart – perhaps a hundred miles in every direction. And they may only have a few samples available at any one time. Though no brands are mentioned, the book does a good job of taking one through the many possible features in a trailer, discussing what is available and what is especially convenient, horse-friendly, or inconvenient. Even little details, like door latches, or avoiding high sills on dressing room doors, so that the dressing room can be swept out easily, are covered – precisely the sort of thing that is easy to miss when looking at bright shiny new trailers. I did not agree with all of her recommendations and preferences, but they are generally well presented and reasoned. Very thorough and easy to read. We are new to horses and had shopped a little for a trailer before reading this book, but found the whole process very overwhelming. We didn’t really have any idea what we should be looking for and talking to all the different salesmen at the equine show proved to be just too much. This book covers everything from A-Z and points out the pros and cons of different types of construction materials, styles, options, etc. Much emphasis is placed on the safety and comfort of the horse. I feel that I am much better equipped to acquire the “right” trailer now that I know the “right questions”.

The HoundAbout is the BEST dog stroller on the market! I own it. My dog has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy with Chinese herbs and acupuncture. These sessions can last up to 3 hours at the Oncologist’s office. Initially, I just wanted something to keep her off the concrete floor as well as something comfortable, but the HoundAbout is much more than that.

After lengthy research, I decided on the HoundAbout. I have not been disappointed! My dog is comfortable the entire visit. The padding and design have the dog in mind. Visibility is excellent, yet the dog is safely contained. I love the durability of it as well as the wheel system. Unlike the cheaply built dog strollers on the market that use small, hard plastic wheels, the HoundAbout uses larger pneumatic bicycle-type tires that can be changed when tread wears thin. Also, with a tire that can be aired up, the ride is much smoother than the competitors hard plastic wheels and is easier to push, even in dirt. Another plus is how the HoundAbout breaks down to be put in the car. Yet, it is fast and easy to set back up. I would highly recommend the HoundAbout for anyone looking for the best dog stroller available. I believe that it will last a lifetime and would never need to be replaced!

We bought this stroller for our 10 year old shepherd mix. Coastal Pet Supplies offered it at a great price and with reasonable shipping costs. The item arrived within a few days of placing the order. The Solvit Hound-about was easy to assemble and it is made of very high quality components. It is also easy to break down for travel. We had previously purchased a smaller stroller for only slightly less money. I would definitely recommend spending a little more and choosing this stroller. It has so many features that I like, it would be hard to say what my favorite is. I suppose that I would say that it is easy to navigate as well as roomy. My dog likes it, too. I think she feels like a princess in there.

I have two small-medium dogs that I like to take for walks. Recently, one of the dogs permanently injured his leg so I purchased this stroller so he could continue to come along on the walks. I’ve learned from the past, when I had purchased strollers for children, that the only strollers worth buying for long walks are the jogger strollers with bicycle type wheels. Regular stroller wheels tend to break apart after a few months worth of use. I looked hard to find a pet stroller for a decent price that was also a jogger stroller and was pleased to find the HoundAbout pet stroller.

Pros:

It is a jogging stroller – I can actually get a good workout with this-I put both dogs in the cab when they get tired and can continue on walking instead of having to go home.

It seems to be of good quality.

Fairly easy to assemble

Unlike some pet strollers, the cab is large ( I sometimes put both my dogs into the cab without a problem. 55 lbs total )

Both back and front netted windows for viewing-well ventilated

Cons:

A pricey investment if you don’t need to use a dog stroller very often or if your dog doesn’t like it

The size can be awkward (63 x 28 x 42 inches)-even though the stroller can fold up for storage, if you use it several times a week you won’t want to fuss with that so you need a space to put it.

Not the smoothest of steering- due to the stroller’s length, the front wheel doesn’t maneuver corners as well as smaller strollers. This is not a problem with most terrain but might be a problem if you take your pet on hilly, tight hiking trails.

Could use a side storage pocket.

I can’t attest to the durability of this stroller for I have only owned it for a few months.

I have three dogs, my oldest dog Sabrina is a 115 lb black lab that is 14 years old. She can’t walk without her legs collapsing. When we take our other two dogs for a walk Sabrina would give us a very sad face. I could not stand that look as I know how much she loved going for walks or trips in the car. So I researched different dog and children strollers. There are only a few strollers that can handle a very large dog. I selected the HoundAbout because the wheels look solid, like a bike tire, the design looks as if would turn and be very stable. The other stroller did not have this type of design. Also it had more conviences as pockets to put your stuff in, cup holder for you, leash attachements inside, a solid floor with a nice padding, screens and rain flaps. My husband thought i was crazy. When we got the stroller, it was just as I thought. The construction is great, the design is stable and the conviences are good (for me…) the inside the floor is solid so it does not sag. The padding is okay, the screens give plenty of ventalation. The only thing i dont like is the brake. There is one brake. The break does not hold well with the weight of the dog. the cabin is roomy and she can move around inside. Getting her in is sometimes a challenge. I have to park it up to the front door step so the cabin floor is somewhat even with the step. This way Sabrina can get into it without stepping up. Also when she gets out, we park it up to the front curb. This also makes it easier for her to get out. When I started taking her for walks, people would do a double take because they expected to see a child not a large dog. Sabrina loves her walks and all the attention she receives. I love this stroller and now Sabrina has a bette quality of life!
